North American Sales & Business Development Manager
Location: Eastern Region Remotely Based

The Opportunity
Photonis Nuclear Instrumentation has been a global leader in designing and manufacturing Neutron and Gamma Detectors in the nuclear industry for more than 50 years. To advance our already strong market position and strengthen our Nuclear Instrumentation Business Unit, Photonis is seeking a highly motivated and technically articulate Sales and Business Development professional in our US division. This position is an individual contributor who will be assigned to US Nuclear accounts and will be responsible for penetrating the emerging Small Modular Reactor (SMR) market to establish Photonis as a main player in the market segment. Your focus will be to create new business opportunities and expand our presence in the US nuclear market by building upon our previous successes in Europe in nuclear electricity production as well as research and advanced reactors. To ensure your success you will have access to a state-of-the-art portfolio of products and a strong technical support based in France. The incumbent will have broad knowledge of the Northern American Nuclear industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and manage a network of customers, laboratories and Research Reactors within the United States.
- Create sales opportunities with new and existing accounts by identifying key potential accounts and building strong alliances.
- Convey client technical requirements and challenges to the Sales and Product Development teams.
- Participate in sales forecasting and action planning.
- Follow up on inquiries generated from trade shows, marketing campaigns, websites and other sources.
- Utilize competitive information and product knowledge to increase market penetration by positioning of products.
- Understand target markets, including industries, companies, projects, company contacts and which market strategies will help to attract fresh opportunities with new clients.
- Monitor day-to-day activities with clients and their supply chain processes to facilitate and co-ordinate responses as required.
- Attend conferences and trade shows to say abreast of market changes and determine likely areas for product development and areas of improvement to promote and market company capabilities.
- Provide professional account management to ensure customer intimacy for best business results.
Competencies
- A minimum of two years of experience in the Nuclear/Energy space.
- Strong track record of success in sales and business development with a focuson customer satisfaction with at least four years of experience in a relevant field.
- Excellent strategic and critical thinking skills.
- Self-motivated and proactive with a mindset to achieve greater sales success.
- Someone who can work autonomously as well be a collaborative team player.
- Ability to travel 30/50%+ in different areas of North America.
- Outstanding presentation and interpersonal communication skills.
- Exceptional aptitude to effectively interact with technical, scientific, andcommercial stakeholders.
Education
Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering or business degree.Strong computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe, Visio and Project.
