Business Development Manager

We are expanding the Business Development team in our ‘Advanced Imaging BU’!
You do not need to live in a specific city, as the position is open to candidates from Belgium, France, Germany or Netherlands!

Reporting to the BU's Business Development WW Director, your main activities will be:

1/ Monitoring and structuring market information on the segments entrusted to you:
- Documenting applications and identifying players by region, assessing market potential
- Continuously gather information via internal feedback (sales, support), customer/partner interviews, attendance at trade fairs/conferences and market studies
- Monitor competitors and technology & market trends
- Classify players according to their strategic interest and potential (Tier1 Tier2, etc.)
- Drawing up a summary (an application, a player, a programme)

2/ Go-to-market & sales support for existing products in close collaboration with Product Marketing via:
- Validated lists of prospects (particularly Tier1)
- The products to be offered and their positioning, based on the key characteristics of the products (co-defined with Product Management) compared with the application requirements
- Any useful information on the systems concerned and (as far as possible) existing competitors
- The key points of the sales argument (for the product or application concerned)
- Description of the Segments and Applications

3/ Introduction of new products (new applications and existing applications) in close collaboration with Product Management, Product Marketing and Sales:
- Define the list of potential customers for the implementation of ‘Early Adopters Programs’.
- Initiate direct contact with these potential customers
- Inform and promote new products to these potential customers
- Organise demonstrations and loans as well as feedback from customers taking part in EAPs
- Hand over to the sales force for offers and actual sales

4/ Product roadmap and strategy, working closely with Product Management, R&D, Innovation and Group Strategy:
- Provide the market perspective in defining the medium-term roadmap (3-5 years)
- Provide the market perspective in defining the long-term roadmap (beyond 5 years)

Your profile:
- Degree in Electronics-Optics Engineering / or business degree if technical background in Electronics-Optics acquired through experience
- At least 10 years' significant experience in business development in the Electronics-Optics sector
- Fluency in English
- Knowledge of the competitive environment
- Good command of statistical analysis
- Strong listening/communication/sales techniques/commercial negotiation skills to establish and maintain lasting customer relationships
- Team spirit
- Strong analytical and summarising skills
